Can you hang out clothes in the winter?

In northern climates, people often ask, "What do you do in the winter time?" Ironically, historic districts are one of the prevalent places that restrict or even ban clothes lines. We ask, "What do you think people did 100 years ago?"

Because of sublimation, it is possible to hang out on many below-freezing days. As long as it's sunny, your sheets and other laundry will dry quickly. You just need tough fingers!

We suggest purchasing a wooden drying rack or getting another apparatus for indoors.

i think In the winter time you can still hang your clothes to dry if you have someplace to hang some clothesline or rope. but I have two rows of clothesline hung in my garden area and I love to hang my clothes to dry after washing them.

Drying Winter Clothes

I use a dehumidifier under the clothes horse. Left on overnight it dries a whole machine load including re-usable nappies.

IKEA Makes a Great Drying Rack
George McNair
IKEA's Antonius drying rack offers 47 yards of indoor drying space. I'm using that rack, along with a cheap clothesline from my dollar store for the sheets, to dry 100% of my clothing.
